About the role

The Production Inventory Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day execution of production inventory activities in support of safe and reliable production, maintenance and shutdown operations within the Global Solutions framework.

The role delivers accurate, timely and compliant inventory execution by following approved processes, workflows and decision boundaries. Operating in a rule-based, execution capacity, the role ensures production inventory is planned, transacted, monitored and controlled effectively, while identifying and escalating exceptions to the Production Inventory Lead or Global Excellence as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Execute day-to-day production inventory management activities in line with approved workflows, processes and service levels.
  • Apply materials master data accurately to support inventory control and demand fulfilment for production and maintenance activities.
  • Perform accurate and timely SAP ERP (MM) inventory transactions in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Knowledge of financial processes that enable inventory control.
  • Track inventory movements from demand through receipt, storage, issue, return and disposal, identifying risks to DIFOT performance.
  • Support production and maintenance planning activities by providing accurate inventory status and availability information.
  • Monitor inventory levels, movements and availability to support production readiness and continuity of operations.
  • Support cycle counts, stock verification, and stocktakes in accordance with approved schedules and controls.
  • Identify slow-moving, excess or obsolete production inventory and support agreed reduction or disposal activities.
  • Maintain focus on inventory data accuracy, completeness and timeliness, escalating systemic data quality issues as required.
  • Execute production inventory activities in compliance with statutory, regulatory, HSEQ and internal requirements.
  • Apply approved materials handling, storage and transportation processes in day-to-day inventory execution.
  • Identify and escalate safety, environmental or compliance issues outside defined controls or role authority.
  • Liaise with Production, Maintenance, Warehousing, Logistics, Procurement and Master Data teams to support inventory execution outcomes.
  • Act as a point of contact for routine production inventory queries within defined role authority.
  • Apply continuous improvement practices to enhance production inventory execution efficiency, accuracy and reliability.

Skills & Experience

Education & Qualifications

- Trade or Degree (Engineering or Commerce) qualification in relevant technical discipline is desirable but not essential.

Technical Skills / Experience

  • Experience in inventory or materials management within production or asset-intensive operational environments.
  • Working knowledge of SAP ERP (MM) and inventory transaction execution.
  • Understanding of warehousing, logistics and production maintenance interfaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on data accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively within defined processes, controls and escalation pathways.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Experience supporting shutdowns or maintenance campaigns (desirable).
  • Qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent experience (desirable).
